Arctica Saga
Chapter 1- A New Friend
~Juno~
I trudged in the jungles of Alquaris with Vela and Lupus beside me. There were reports of Mizar's enhanced drones from the natives living on this beautiful tropical planet. Not to mention that he also has a new partner as well, there was an alien. All the planets pass the Milky Way feared the evil and very powerful alien, named Frieza, he even took over the Saiya-jin race, the most barbaric, ruthless species ever. No, he's not Mizar's partner, thank god! His daughter, Arctica, is Mizar's partner. Son Gokou, the strongest man in the universe, killed Frieza, unfortunately he died of a heart attack thirty-five years ago. Too bad. We could've used him on the Jet Force.
Anyways, thanks to Arctica's hi-tech equipment, Mizar's drones are much harder to kill. Don't worry, we have three members of the Jet Force that know Arctica, they've even survived battles with her. Jet Force Gold, the sisters, Cernia and Titania, and their young brother Ru-yan. They are all older then us, but they joined the Jet Force six years ago. I heard they're pretty fast learners as well. And the reason why they need us? Mizar and Arctica's army, the Friezans, have many fighters.

Ru-yan may be young, but he's the wisest of the three. Cernia, is the strongest, and Titania is the fastest. He was really worried about coming at this part of the planet. He kept complaining, it was starting to get on my nerves. "Guys, I'm not sure if we should come here....I...have a feeling....someone is watching us."
Vela sighed, "Hey, we only have to shut down the controls to their satellite, that's all, plain and simple,"
His sisters were getting a little annoyed as well, I guess all of us was, finally Cernia cracked, "Ru, quit it with your complaining!!!!! I have no idea what is wrong with you, we've always fought Arctica, what's you're problem?"
"What's my problem?!?!? I'll tell you my problem, sis , I aba..." Titania, gripped onto his shoulder, hard, and shook her head, her face led his to Vela, Lupus and I. He calmed down, and kept his mouth shut.
"Why so quiet all of a sudden?" asked Lupus. That's right, Lupus. There is finally a little gadget in his suit that takes his brain waves, and convert them to speech.
"I dunno, maybe they're hiding something from us," replied Vela, trying to make herself as quiet as possible.
~Alita~
I've followed these strangers for a while now, three of them I've already seen here before, Cernia, Titania, and Ru-yan. But the other three, I'm curious about, one woman, one dog, and one man. To me, he was well, kinda cute. His seemed so calm, kind, responsible. I guess he's the reason why I keep following them. What? It's not that I like him, well, I kinda like him. Too bad I don't know who he is.
They soon came to a large, steel bunker with a satellite on top, my mom told me never to go near there, she taught me everything I needed to know. Well, she's not here anymore to tell me now. In fact, I haven't seen her for six years. I've tried looking for her, but after a month since her disappearance, I've given up, I fear the worse. Since then, I've become an orphan. But hey! I can take care of myself, I'm nineteen years old. Almost an adult, just a few more years....Still, it hurts being left on this planet with no family. What? My father? Bah! I never knew that bastard, he left us when I was a baby. It pained my mother so much. I hate him for that.
I have a locket, mother gave it to me, it had her initials, K and N, her first name is Katina, but I don't know her last. The other initials, T and V. Are my father's. I didn't know his name at all. Who cares. I never want to know the man who hurt my mother so dearly.

I soon found out that the three newcomers are Juno, the man, Vela, the woman, and Lupus is the dog. Most of them were hiding out a few feet from the bunker. Except Lupus, he snuck around each bush until he reached the entrance, there, he crawled into a vent. I wondered why. A few minutes later, the entrance opened and the Lupus appeared. Then, they all followed him. I decided to follow them quietly, since I had nothing else better to do.
I kept my ground, I stayed around twenty feet away from them, trying to be as quiet as possible. Juno had a little device in his hand, it looked like a map. "This way" he whispered, pointing to the left. Where were they going? They all soon came to a large room. In the center, was a large machine, which probably controlled the satellite outside, guarding the area were large titanium insects, they had a large claw and some kind of weapon on the other arm. Their four legs were really long, which made them pretty fast by the looks of it. It was horrifying. I've never seen them outside, they're probably new here.
Vela and Ru-yan snuck around to the machine as the others watch their back by shooting insects. Vela and Ru-yan spilt up, going on each side putting some kind of devices on them, After they were far from center, it blew up with a loud explosion, "Alright everyone! Let's move outta here, " yelled Juno, as the ground was shaking. He stayed put until everyone was out, I decided to get myself out as well, I started to run, until something went through my arm, the remaining insect behind me, shot me. I fell to the ground. Another explosion went off, I looked up, and a large piece of metal was heading for me.
Kuso!!! I closed my eyes, I wanted to move, but I couldn't. Then I felt a hard shove on my right. Pushing me out of the way.
~Juno~
We were about to leave the control room, until I saw a young woman, she was on the floor, with her arm bleeding, she was trying to get up. Above her I saw a large piece of metal, about to fall right on top of her. I don't know why I did it, but I ran to her and shoved her over before the metal fell. I could her Vela screaming, "JUNO!!!!"
I held her close to my chest as we sled toward the wall. We quickly got up, "Come on, let's get outta here, " I cried. Behind us was a drone about to shot us, but I shot him using my machine gun. I held on tight to the woman's hand a ran out of the base as fast as a I could, I just hoped everyone got out in time.
"Damn, you're too slow," cried the woman. Then, she did something I never expected. She threw me into the air, that's right, I'm not making this up, and she carried me in her arms, and ran as fast as a cheetah, no faster. I couldn't believe it! I must've been dreaming! I even pinched myself to check! I gripped onto her shoulder, but she wince in pain. Then I remembered, her arm was bleeding, and it still was. Her blood came out rapidly.
Just as we were about the escape, she started to slow down, I could tell she was weak from lack of blood, she was also breathing heavily.. Luckily we got to a safe distance before the bunker blew up. And she dropped me, I didn't get hurt, but she fainted. I tore a part of her shorts and wrapped it around her arm, I wish I had my med-pack with me, but I left it at camp. I carried her around in my arms and started to look for my companions.

Soon, I found them, the camp wasn't far, just a fifteen minutes walk. "What happened to her?" asked Cernia, she took the young woman off my arms, I was starting to get tired now. I opened the door the capsule cabin. The Capsule Corporation has given us some of the equipment we have now with us, the general's mother owns the company. Cernia lay the woman on a nearby bed, "She lacking blood, and won't survive for long,"
"Hey Cernia, where's your bother and sister, I haven't seen them since Juno got here, " asked Lupus.
"I don't know, but I all I care is for this woman get the blood she needs" she reached for a large med-pack under the bed. She took a drop of her blood and analyzed it. "It's type B+....anyone?" she asked.
"I have B+," said Vela and I. "I'll give the blood," said I, putting Vela aside, "She saved my life! It's the least I can do." I looked at the young woman, and looked at my sister and companion, they gave me a blank look.
Cernia took the blood transfer device out. And began the process. Vela looked at me, and whispered, "Juno, I've argued with you in the past..... and I'll never stop," she smiled, "But, when you have to pay a life debt, I'll step back," She made sure Cernia wasn't listening and crept beside my ear, "Besides, I could tell you look...interested in her,"
"Hey! Watch it you baka" I hissed, also trying to make sure Cernia didn't hear and nudged her in the stomach. But Vela's right, I don't know why, just a feeling. I could almost feel my face flush.
Cernia finished the process and I just had to wait, "Listen, I'm going to go look for my sister and brother, I won't be long, just wait twenty minutes. She'll have enough blood then."
"Wait, I'll go with you." said Vela, getting up to her feet.
"Hey, what about me?" asked Lupus, getting to his feet.
"You stay with Juno, I'm not sure if this woman is friend or foe. So I need one more person...um... or dog, to look after her. Juno will be a little to weak to probably fight her alone, after all, he is giving blood." replied Cernia, putting back the med-pack.
"Oh, fine...." moaned Lupus disappointedly.
~Alita~
I felt something sharp in my arm, it hurt a bit, but not too much. I cussed silently, "Ah, Shimatta...what's going on..." I felt it being removed and I opened my eyes.
"Hey, Lupus, she waking up," it sounded like Juno, I couldn't tell, my head was aching and my sight was all blurry.
I tried to speak, "Uh.......Juno?"
"Hey how does she know you're name?" questioned another voice.
"I don't know," I felt strong arms left me up, I'm guessing it was him. He lifted a few fingers in front of me, "How many fingers do you see?"
"Uh........nine??? No wait, eleven?" I replied, he took the away from me.
"I was holding up three......Were you guessing?"
"Oh....um....no." I slurred, he laid me down again, a cover me in the blankets.
"Just get some rest for now, you lost a lot of blood, I donated enough already." He looked away from my and said, "Can you leave Lupus, I hope you don't mind,"
"Iie, I don't mind, I need to catch a few winks anyways," replied the voice, "I haven't slept for a while" , I heard something open, then close. I'm guessing it was a door?
I spoke again, "Doko...Where...am I??" I tried to get up, "Kami, my head really hurts. I feel like I was hit over the head with a boulder."
"You're in a safe place, don't worry. Just get some rest like I asked you to do," he paused for a while, I could feel him looking at me. "So, what's your name?" he asked, rubbing his hands against mine.
"Alita....." I moaned pulling my hand away.
"Hmmm....nice name...I know that you know mine....How?"
"Hey, I was watching you people do your...whatever you did. And...well, you weren't the most silent group of people I've seen in the jungle," I managed to laugh a bit.
"Oh...Gomen nasai, if we interrupted anything......"
"Don't worry Juno, I'm fine with that, besides, there's nothing else better for me to do."
It was quiet for a while between us, all I could hear was the nature outside the room. Then he finally asked, "So, how old are you?"
"Nineteen," I replied, I managed to get up, but my head still hurts a little. "You?"
"Twenty-one years," he replied. He took of his helmet and put it behind him, he had long blue hair tied back, "Man, it's hot, do you want anything to eat or drink?"
"No thanks, I'm fine now......." Juno left the room to get a drink and I was left alone. I looked around, there were three beds and what seems to be a few weapons. I scratched my head, wondering what to do now, I couldn't get up, I was to tired. I looked at nearby mirror, where that insect shot me, it was wrapped up and one my other arm, that's probably where Juno's blood was transferred. I felt bad. No, I'm not in pain anymore, I felt bad emotionally, this is all my fault. If I haven't followed them in the first place, I wouldn't have caused trouble to Juno, he even had to sacrifice part of him to keep me alive. I felt a tear in my eye and I wiped it away. Why am I like this? I started to flush. Juno walked back in with a bottle of water in his hands, he placed it on a table nearby and sat near me again. He untied his hair, it was blue and went down to his back. He took his gloves off and combed his fingers through his hair. "Juno......."
"Yes?"
"Gomen nasai......"
"You're sorry? Sorry for what?" he asked, his face was so calm and showed so much kindness.
"I'm sorry for causing all this trouble, if it weren't for me, we wouldn't be in this mess." I sighed and looked at him, in his emerald green eyes, they were beautiful, I wondered what he thought of me... I should get out of here, I caused enough trouble already. I tried to get up and headed for the door, but Juno stop me before I got a chance.
"And where are you going?" questioned Juno, holding onto my arm, he had a strong grasp, not a painful, just a strong one. He cocked an eyebrow.
"I don't know," I tried to get up, "Maybe back home?", he pulled me towards him, my face was like an inch away from his. I felt myself blush more, I wish I didn't know why.
~Juno~
Kami, this girl is kinda weird. First, she's all nice and everything, but she doesn't even say thank you for what I've done for her. I pulled her towards me so I can look at her, her face was really close to me, I saw her face turn slightly red.
Then I realized, just by looking at her, that she was beautiful. Her long, silky, lavender hair, and her sky blue eyes. I couldn't believe it, she kinda looked like Ru-yan, the eyes and hair. But I pushed out of my mind when she broke free of my grasp. She continued to leave but I stop her again, and dragged her back to the bed, "You're in no condition to go out there alone, besides, I didn't even hear a thank you." I laughed, "What's the rush?"
Alita pouted and crossed her arms, "Why do you care...." Now her face was really blushing, and she tried to hide it by covering face with her hair. Now she was really acting weird. I scratched my head in confusion.
Then I felt myself smirk mischievously, and whispered, "I wanna ask you somethin',"
"Nani?" she asked, glancing at me shyly.
"Tell me what you think of me....be honest." I replied, somehow this girl made me feel, I dunno, good.
Alita looked at me straight in the eyes, she was blushing, beet red, "Well....um...I...uh... " she looked down, her long pale, lavender hair covered her sky blue eyes and face, "Chikshoo...um....you're very brave, kind...um.." I looked her into her eyes, and that somehow, made her lose almost all of her nervousness, "You're caring, gentle, handsome, and...." I smiled and touched her soft cheek,"....That's it..."
"Honto?" I ask. She nodded. Looks like this girl isn't so bad after all.
