Arctica Saga
Chapter 2- Memories
~Alita~
It was half an hour since Juno's friends left. And my head feels much better after he gave me some aspirin. I thanked him for it, and for all the things he did for me. We talked and learned a bit more of each other. It seems that he has been in the Jet Force since he was sixteen and he was also an orphan along with Vela, his twin. They're parents were murdered by space pirates. Strange, they don't look the same to me, his eyes are green but when Vela came back with Cernia, Titania and Ru-yan, her eyes were blue. Oh well, it's doesn't matter to me.
And the 'other voice' a while ago was Juno's dog, Lupus. Juno explained how Lupus could talk, knowing that I would never believe seeing a talking animal. He proved me wrong. A while later, they were about to leave for the planet's Jet Force base to head towards earth until, Juno asked me, "Why don't you come with us?"
"Nani?" I asked, "I didn't hear you,"
"I said, why don't you come with us back to Earth?" he asked again, as he capsulated the last piece of their equipment and placed it in his pocket. I hesitated to say anything then, should I? I bit my lips nervously, "Alita? I didn't you hear me?"
"My hearing is fine, I'm just not sure if I should go, I mean, I'm so used to living here. It just doesn't feel right leaving Alquaris," I whispered back crossing my arms. I followed him onto a sky car, Vela drove, besides the idea that she is short-tempered, she's also a reckless driver.
"But, there is nothing left here for you Alita, you even said so yourself," he exclaimed, his voice shook due to Vela's driving. He was right, there's nothing left here, and after being attack by those giant insects, it proved his point even more. He put his hand under my chin, "Well?"
"I don't know, something here is telling me to stay, but I don't know what...." I paused, I had a feeling my mother is still alive, but if she is, why hasn't she tried to contact me? I sighed, "I hope you understand Juno...besides where can I stay?"
Juno looked down, disappointed. I could understand why, just an hour ago, there was a slight hint of....don't laugh....love between us. He bit his lips, heart broking. I sighed again and smiled at him, "Alright, Juno...I accept your offer....I'll come with you to Earth," His eyes lit up and looked at me. He smiled and gave me a tight hug. He kiss me, and I blushed. Knowing we were in front of his friends, I heard Vela giggle. She was looking at us through the rearview mirror.
~Juno~
Oh man, Alita's coming with us to Earth! I was happy! That sad-puppy face worked!!!! Hey I know it's sneaky, but it still works. Nani? Alright, fine I do love her.....but....I haven't even tried to tell her. I'm much too nervous....Anyways, onto other things. We soon got to the base and returned the equipment back to Jet Force Gold. They went back home and Vela, Alita, Lupus and I prepared to go home at the Jet Force base. Then, Alita just remembered something, "Hey, Juno, my stuff, I have to get it," she screamed.
"Nani? What do you need to get, it better not be only clothes," I complained, I hope she didn't need to get much.
"I won't be long Juno, I just have to get a few things from home," she said, "Don't leave without me,"
"Oh fine, go, take your time. We're not leaving for an hour or so," interrupted Vela, covering my mouth shut, a second later, Alita ran out of the base and into the jungle.
"Vela! We're leaving now!" I hissed, as she removed her hand away from my face.
"Not. If your girl wants to get her stuff, then let her. Besides, I'm hungry, I haven't eaten all day, I'm going into town for an hour or so, you want anything?" I told her I didn't want anything. She picked up a few credits and started to leave with Lupus, then, since I'm going to end up being by myself, I decided to tag along with them.

When we got back, Alita was sitting on the edge of a fountain. The Jet Force base on Alquaris had fountains, statues and gardens at its large size gate, I think it's kind of absurd to place gardens in this kind of place like this, but the Alquarians, they prefer there buildings to be...fancy....even if it is a military building. I sighed, I know it's weird. The base was a few stories underground and a few miles away, just to avoid any enemy attacks. There is a tram under ground to get there. Each base is build the same way for the same reason, including earth.
Alita smiled when she saw us, along with her was a purse made of blue silk, and a sheathe with obviously, a sword inside, from what she told me; her mother, used to live on Earth around twenty years ago. Her father was a half-breed Saiya-jin, they are the most savage species in the North Galaxy (That explains her monkey like tail). That's all Alita knew about him, her father left them when she was young, she told me that he caused her mother so much pain; he just disappeared one morning. and when Alita was thirteen, her mother disappeared as well.
Alita stood up and pulled a few strands of hair behind her slightly pointed ear, "Where were you guys? I've been waiting here for almost an hour!" she cried, crossing her arms.
"An hour?" I gulped, "That was fast..." Lupus, who was behind me nodded his head in agreement.
"I told you I won't take long, so where were you?"
"Vela brought us to town to grab something to eat, are you hungry?"
"No, I hunted on the way back....." Alita was right, I can see some blood near her lips. I could see her mother taught Alita a few things to live by, probably from her father.
Vela mumbled under her breathe, "Now that was really fast," knowing she went home, packed up, and went hunting on the way.
"Alita, you had some blood on near your lips," I pointed out, wiping her clean.
She blushed a little, "Whoops, but I was really hungry...." She looked really embarrassed.
~Alita~
So that's why people were staring at me, what would mom think? Well, I couldn't help it if I'm a messy eater. That deer was good and I was really hungry. I guess it's in my blood. We walked to the spaceport and boarded the ship, as time passed, I was more I was uncomfortable about leaving. "Alita....you okay?" Juno asked me as I grabbed a seat, "You seem so quiet now....that's unlike you...something wrong?"
"No.....I...I'm fine Juno," I whispered, I started to feel myself shake. He sat down and looked at me, he knew something was wrong.
"Alita, you're nervous aren't you...." he sighed.
"Hai...." I replied, looking down.
"Don't be...you'll be fine, I promise you that."
"And if I won't?"
"I know you will, because, I never break promises...." he chuckled, placing his hand on my cheek, his gloves were cool, I was close to a shiver.
Vela sat down and Lupus sat beside her in a seat for his size, we took off and left Alquaris' atmosphere. She set the cruiser onto hyperspace. And we were on our way to Earth.
I looked out the large window in front of us after take off, we were flying really fast, but I can fly faster, that's right, I can fly, my mother taught me. Space was so beautiful, but lonely, it reminded me of the day mother disappeared. I fiddled around with my locket and closed my eyes, trying to keep the tears back, knowing Juno, Vela and Lupus are around, but they were so busy on getting us to Earth, I got bored.
Then I decided to go into another room so I won't disturb them, I snuck out of the bridge and walked through the corridors of the ship, it was very clean and shiny. I came upon a small room which had many guns and other weapons I've never seen, I sat down on a crate in the corner and reached into my bag. I pulled out my mother's ocarina and started playing the lullaby she played to me every night. I remembered her voice, it was beautiful. But I could no longer hear it anymore, I can barely remember her. My eyes filled with more tears. I started to weep.

Around half an hour later, I heard someone come in, I stopped playing and looked up, Juno was in front of me. He had a concerned look on his face, "Alita....are you okay? I came to look for you as soon as noticed you weren't at the bridge, when I walked out, I heard some music being played, so I came here...."
"Juno I'm fine....." I could feel my voice shake. No, I wasn't fine, I was miserable, I wept tears that were held for so many long years. I missed my mother.
Juno sat beside me at the corner, I pulled my knees to up my chest. "Honto?" he asked, he cocked an eyebrow at me. He knew I was lying. "Alita, tell me....."His lips met mine, "Doozo...... my Alita-chan." he whispered.
"I just miss kaa-san, it's been six years....I love her very much," I sighed, I felt a little embarrassed, talking to him about such things. I put my head down. "She was always kind, she never yelled at me when I did something wrong, she always told me to be careful the next time, or don't do that again, or now you've learn....you get the idea..."
"Yeah..."
"Anyway, even though she was always kind to me, when she trained me, she was really rough about it, like when she taught me how to fly,
He looked confused, "To....fly? I don't see any wings."
"Yeah, fly, you know into the air without falling to the earth? Anyways, she flew me into the air and let go of me,"
"She let go of you? Now that's harsh," Juno wasn't confused now, more like terrified.
"Hey don't worry, she always caught me before I hit the ground, the flying technique was suppose to click into my head at a certain time." I leaned on him, "She taught me how the use a sword and play the ocarina I have here, those were easy to master," I wiped the tears from my cheek, "She used to sing to me at night before bed, her voice was beautiful.....When I had nightmares, she always stayed with me until I could sleep....her touch was very gentle....Kami, I miss her so much..."
Juno gave me a comforting look, "Hey, at least your parents are probably still alive, unlike ours...."
"I know......." I looked at him, he was to kind and gentle to me. He smiled and kissed me again, this time, is was longer and more passionate, then ever. I felt his arm around my body as he pressed me closer to him. "Arigatou Juno....for listening." He just smiled and held me close to his chest. I could even hear the heartbeat through his armor. He felt so warm. I love him....I just wish one day, I have enough confidence to tell him that...

~Juno~
"Ohayoo, Juno," I opened my eyes, in front of me was my twin, "Wake up, we're home,"
"Uh.....Honto?" I slurred, I was really sleepy, I must've dozed off with Alita, I looked down, she looked peaceful as she slept.
"Hai, Lupus is waiting outside the hanger, I came to get you ," she whispered. " I already reported to the general and returned the equipment, now all we have to do is wait for you to change to your civilian clothes." She smirked.
"You go ahead, I'll catch up, " I said, trying to sit up without disturbing Alita. Vela left us alone and left the ship. Without dropping her stuff, I got off the crate we were resting in and carried her out of the weaponry, she wasn't that heavy, just as heavy as a kitten, either that or I'm somehow getting stronger. I got changed into a tank top and jeans and walked out, it was night, "Vela, what time is it?" I asked, seating Alita in the sky car, she just stirred and opened her eyes, then closed them again. I smiled and kissed her. Vela and Lupus sat in the front, Vela drove.
"It's 11:30 pm," she replied. I sat beside our half Saiya-jin friend, lying back. I was wondering if Vela said anything about what has happened to me, you know, Alita. We practically snuck her here, I'm not sure if were suppose to, I couldn't remember then. I forgot if there was a violation on bringing a partially Saiya-jin girl to Earth, knowing the havoc they cause to other planets.
"So, what did you tell Gen. Vegita?" I asked, yawning.
Vela replied, "Don't worry, I kept quiet about Alita, he doesn't know about her, I saw no reason for it."
"Hmm, I see. Thanks..." I looked out the window.
Things kept quiet for a while, then she asked, "Hey, where is she going to sleep?" She was obviously referring to Alita.
"I dunno......" Then I felt my face blushed at my next reply, "......I guess she'll have to stay in the guest room,"
I heard Vela being close to bursting out laughing, but she tried disguised it as a cough. "Okay...if you say so....." I heard her giggle. "Wouldn't you want her to stay with you?"
I blushed a bit more, "It's not what you think, I don't plan to...um....uh...you know, yet, "
"Spit it out, it's nothing for you to be ashamed of," she chuckled. She put the sky car to a stop in front of our apartment, "Well?"
"I...uh....don't plan to be....um I how should I say it," I was really embarrassed, Alita was right beside me, for all I know, she could be hanging on every word I say.
"You don't plan to be ......intimate with her yet, right?"
I moaned, "Hai..."
"Gee, you're no fun," She said, as she got out of the car. Lupus jumped out and walked beside her.
"You hentai, even though we're twins, we're very different, so unlike you, I don't plan to have 'fun' so soon in a relationship,"

I carried Alita to the elevator and up to our fifth floor apartment. I laid her on the bed. I put her stuff against the wall. I sat beside her. She looked so peaceful. I smiled, I never found anyone like her.
She slowly opened her eyes, "Juno...."
"Hey Alita," I smiled. "We're home, you slept through the whole flight, and them some,"
She stood up and walked towards the French doors of her current room, "So this is what Earth looks like,"
"That's only part of the West Capital," I stood up and walked beside her, "There's a whole other world out there. So many different people, animals, culture." I said, looking out.
"Honto?" she said, looking at me with that gorgeous face of hers.
"Hai, Alita-chan," I glanced at her. Kami, I wanted her so badly, she was just so....so....oh man, I don't even know a word for it, is this what happens when you fall in love with an angel? Still, I don't think it's a good time to be intimate with her, yet. However, something in the pit of my stomach told me I should cherish her, protect her. That kiss she gave me a while ago, it has changed me completely, I can feel it, but how? If she hadn't I wouldn't have asked her to come with me back home. Part of me was lost and confused, and the other part of me was telling me to do something.
